Newsletter – February 2023

Dear Parents

It has been close to 3 years since we first heard the word Covid19 and words such as pandemic, quarantine, sanitizing, social distancing, screening became part of our everyday vocabulary. It is so refreshing to be able to once again engage in everyday activities without any restrictions.

We are most appreciative to the Cape Music Academy as they have generously gifted the school with a piano. The children attending music sessions are really enjoy the lessons.

The fee per child is R425.00 per month which is payable in advance. Both guitar and piano pupils will need a Music Book, as well as a Theory of Music Book.

The cost of these items are as follows:

• Piano Book: R295 (once off)

• Guitar Book: R240 (once off)

• Theory of Music Book: R195 (once off)

• Account Name: King’s School Goodwood

• Account No: 62467430410

• Branch: Willowbridge

• Branch code: 210655 or 25065

• Reference: Child’s Name/ Cape Music Academy

• Proof of payment to be sent to

Assessments will take place this term and your child’s teacher will be sending home more information in this regard within the next week or so. It is important that your child attends school each day and that you encourage them to do their best.

We are saddened to inform you that Mrs Schroder (Gr 1) has accepted a job in the corporate world. Mrs Schroder has been with King’s School going on 5 years. She most certainly will be missed and we thank her for her dedicated service to King’s. Our very best wishes go with Mrs Schroder as she starts the new season in her life.

We apologise for the late communication regarding the cancellation of the sportsday we had originally scheduled for 17 February 2023. We were not able to confirm a venue for the event timeously.

In place of a Sports Day, we are hoping to have a fun day of sporting/ physical activities with the Hebron Christen Academy in Brackenfell sometime in May. Details of this event will be confirmed closer to the time.
